Missing Obsession
Hello, I'm Sapphira. I am a Humanities student studying philosophy, archaeology, anthropology, astronomy, and art history. My ask is always on if you need advice or just want to talk. Have a nice day.
touch/don’t touch.

sinandserotonin:

we did not know enough
to realize that where
there is smoke,
there is a fire—

touch her again
and see if it burns

touch him again
and feel your skin sear

against the hot stove
your mother told you
to keep your hands off

brushstroke fingers
against flickering tongues
of lurid crimson flames

but we did not know enough
and no one seems to learn

how some things are not
meant to be touched and
how easily people burn.

My first tattoo. Turned out better than I’d expected. Big thanks to Jeff at Tattoo Bill’s in Charlotte, NC, definitely going back there for my next one!
fuckyeahtattoos:

Well there it is, my very first tattoo. Midway down my ribs on the right side. Done by Kyle at Lark Tattoo in Albany NY. A few years back when I was graduating high school and buying my first car, I received one of the greatest pieces of advice I have ever received from a complete stranger. I was purchasing a coexist bumper sticker, and on the back someone had written “Follow Your Bliss”. At a time in my life when everyone had their two cents about what I should do with my future, this seemed like the greatest advice of all, to follow my inner happiness. I ripped off the paper and have hung it next to my bed in the four places I have lived since I got it, a reminder every morning to follow my bliss. I finally decided that these words were something that I would like to carry with me for the rest of my life, and I got them as a tattoo. I would like to thank the kind stranger who has provided me with these words, and the smile on my face today.
